ORIGINAL SOUNDS
EBRIPHON (2020)
Noise becomes music.
An electro-acoustic symphony out of steel and iron by the artists Christine Hinterkörner and Patrik Huber.
The sounds for the project „Ebriphon“ are recoreded in port for bulk cargo in Bakar (Croatia). One of the oldest town and the port on the northern Adriatic with a long and rich history. The area of Bakar town stretches from the Bakar Bay to the peak of Risnjak Mountain occupying about 12,560 hectares and consist of seven small towns. Bakar with his Industrial zone in Kukuljanovo, represents the heart of economic development of Primorje County.
The artists put several microphones at different places on a the cargo ship Yassa from Istanbul. The length of the ship is 230 meters, 81.000 ton heavy, 11 flors high, 20 meters depth, speed 27 km/hour.
The sounds that the ship itself produced were recorded with microphones on several places. Like as engine room, command bridge, kitchen, cabin, loading hatches, ship deck … and the musician and composer Christine Hinterkörner composed these noises into an electro-acoustic musical symphony in industrial style.
The composition EBRIPHON can be listened on the port of the Maincultural Citiy Rijeka 2020 from July until August 2020.
